The HG-1 has always been built around a simple idea: exceptional grinding performance deserves equally exceptional design and construction.

The new HG-1 Prime carries that philosophy forward. It is a mechanical object designed to be seen, touched and used every day, built from enduring materials, engineered with precision, and made with the expectation that it will last for generations.

At its heart is a robust 83mm burr set. Around them, we’ve refined nearly every part of the grinder you see, touch and use.

• Custom 83mm TiN-coated conical burrs.
• Redesigned skeleton flywheel.
• Stainless steel mounting puck that provides a stable grinding platform while allowing the grinder to be easily removed or repositioned.
• New split ring magnetic bean hopper that separates for removal for easier cleaning or switching between workflows.
• Wood base mat and matching funnel cover.
• All-stainless-steel hardware and heirloom-quality construction.

The HG-1 Prime is available in two finishes: Panda, our signature combination of silver and black, and Obsidian, finished entirely in black.

Every Prime comes standard with a wood base mat, matching wood hopper cover and a choice of Espresso grinding funnel. From there, you can choose the materials and tools that best suit the way you make coffee.

• Base mat & Hopper Cover: Wood is standard, with brass or copper available as upgrades.
• Bean Hopper: The Espresso Hopper is standard. Higher-capacity Wide Mouth and Venetian funnels are available for pour-over and larger doses.
• Redistribution: Choose a Blind Tumbler, Espresso Shaker Funnel I, Espresso Shaker Funnel II, or no redistribution tool.

The result is a grinder that can be distinctly yours without compromising the simplicity and elegance at the heart of the HG-1.
