Pre-order at 2012 Pricing

A small homage to where it all started.

The original HG-1 launched in 2012 at $849.95. Fourteen years and a few thousand grinders later, we thought it would be fitting to bring that price back.

For a limited time, you can reserve the newest evolution of the grinder for the same $849.95 we charged in 2012.

The grinder has changed quite a bit…for a little while, the price hasn’t.

During the introductory pre-order period, the new HG-1 Prime is available for $849.95 — $245 below the regular $1,094.95 price. Once the pre-order period ends, the HG-1 Prime will return to its regular price.

Each grinder will ship configured for espresso with our split ring Espresso Hopper, Wood Base Matte and matching Wood Hopper Cover, and your choice of Espresso Shaker Funnel I, Espresso Shaker Funnel II, or Blind Tumbler.

Additional hoppers and material options will be available as upgrades.

Please note that some finishes and details shown are from prototypes and may differ slightly from the final production version, including the wood base matte and hopper covers. That being said, what you’re looking at is pretty close to the final version.

A $149.95 refundable deposit reserves your grinder. The remaining balance of $700, plus shipping and any selected upgrades, will be due before shipment.

For US customers, the price includes applicable import duties and tariffs but excludes Florida sales tax where applicable. Our usual free US domestic shipping offer does not apply to pre-orders.

We’re targeting late Q1 to early Q2 2027 (March–April) for shipment. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed shipping date. As with any manufacturing project, production schedules, component availability, and logistics can introduce unexpected delays.

We’ll provide regular updates throughout production. If we anticipate missing our estimated shipping window, we’ll notify you, provide a revised estimate when available, and give you the option to accept the delay or cancel your order for a full refund.

If your plans change before final payment, your deposit can be refunded, less any non-recoverable payment-processing fees. If we cannot meet the estimated shipping window and you choose not to accept a revised shipping date, your deposit will be refunded in full.

Can I Change My Color Choice?

If you change your mind about Panda or Obsidian after placing your pre-order, no problem. Just get in touch and we’ll be happy to switch your reservation to the other finish, provided you let us know before your grinder goes into final production.

We’ve been designing, manufacturing and shipping grinders since 2012 and we have experience in small scale high quality manufacturing. The HG-1 Prime isn’t a concept waiting to be developed, and your deposit isn’t funding an experiment. It is the latest generation of a grinder we’ve been building and refining for more than a decade.

We’ve taken pre-orders before, and we’ve always delivered. Your deposit reserves a grinder from the upcoming production run.

Still on the fence? No need to rush. We’re planning to keep a healthy inventory on hand once production is underway. You won’t miss out on the HG-1 Prime, but you will miss out on the 2012 price.
