HG-1 PRIME OBSIDIAN – FIRST RENDERS
We’ve had a few requests to see what the HG-1 Prime Obsidian will look like, so here are some early renders of the all-black version. These are still pre-production images, and a few tiny details may change before the final product. They should, however, give you a pretty good idea of what we’re working toward.
One thing worth mentioning is that the Blind Tumbler and Espresso Shaker Funnels I and II will remain silver, even with the Obsidian. Interestingly, one customer pointed out that they actually prefer the silver finish because it’s easier to see the few grounds left behind after grinding, which makes cleaning a little easier. A fair point, and one I hadn’t really considered.
As for the renders themselves, they’re done in Blender. I’m an old-school VFX guy, so I still prefer doing things the hard way rather than relying on generative AI. Whether that’s a matter of principle or simply an inability to let go of old habits is open to debate. Either way, please forgive the occasional rendering imperfection. I’m a little more comfortable designing grinders than rendering them these days.
